Citation: Boominathan, MiRNA-based therapy for Ovarian tumors: MiRNA-497 increases the expression of tumor suppressor p53 via down regulation of its target gene, 16/February/2015, 22.32, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that MiRNA-497, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of tumor suppressor p53. Thereby, it may inhibit cancer progression. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-497 or its activators” can be used to inhibit the progression of ovarian tumors.
