Significance: This study suggests that Neurotensin, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of MDM2.  Thereby, it may promote the degradation of tumor suppressor p53 and initiate tumorigenesis. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Neurotensin inhibitors  may be used to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells.
