Significance:  This study suggests, for the first time, that Cholecalciferol, by inducing the expression of its target geneit may increase the expression of ADAR1.  Thereby, it may inhibit melanoma progression. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing ” Cholecalciferol or its analogues” may be used in the treatment of melanoma.
