A recent study from the Dept of Cardiology, Harvard Medical School shows that “Cardiac-Specific YAP Activation Improves Cardiac Function and Survival in an Experimental Murine Myocardial Infarction Model.” This study was published in the prestigious  Journal Circulation research  by Prof Pu, Dr Lin  and others from the Dept of Cardiology, Harvard Medical School; Dept of Cardiology, Children’s Hospital Boston; Dept of Genetics, Harvard Medical School etc.

On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan PhD, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports that: Molecular therapy for Cardiovascular disorders:  SMAD7 improves cardiac function and inhibits myocardial infarction via up regulation of its target geneThis study suggests that SMAD7 , by increasing the expression of its target gene, it improves myocardial function. Together, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassingSMAD7  or its activators” may be used to improve cardiac function.
