Citation: Boominathan, Molecular therapy for human cancers: WIF-1 increases the expression of tumor suppressor ARF, inhibits cancer stemness and induces senescence via up regulation of its target gene, 28/January/20145, 08.53 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that WIF-I, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may (1) increase the expression of tumor suppressor ARF; (2) promote senescence; (3) and inhibit the expression of cancer stem cell genes. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “WIF-I or its activators” may be used to inhibit the progression of human tumors.
