Significance: The study presented here suggests that Oct-4, by decreasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2). Thereby, it may inhibit Myocardial ischemia. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Oct-4 activators” may be used to inhibit myocardial ischemia after myocardial infarction.
