Citation: Boominathan, L., Molecular therapy for Myocardial ischemia: C/EBPβ inhibits cardiac ischemia via up regulation of Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2), 28/March/2015, 23.03, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: The study presented here suggests that C/EBPβ, by decreasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2). Thereby, it may inhibit Myocardial ischemia. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “C/EBPβ activators” may be used to inhibit myocardial ischemia following myocardial infarction.
