Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that p53, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of PDLIM5. Thereby, it may inhibit pulmonary hypertension. Together, pharmacological formulations encompassing “p53/PDLIM5 activators“ may be used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
