Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that  I3C, a natural product of Brassica vegetables, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may inhibit cerebral ischemia induced injury. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing ” I3C or its analogues  may be used to inhibit cerebral ischemia induced injury.
