CitationBoominathan, Natural product-based anticancer therapy: Curcumin, the major component of turmeric, increases the expression of cell cycle inhibitor INK4b/p15 via down regulation of its target genes, 21/February/2015, 8.17 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org

Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that tumor suppressor Curcumin, by decreasing the expression of  its target gene, it may increase the expression of INK4b/p15. Thereby, it may inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Curcumin or its analogues”  can be used to inhibit the progression of human cancers.
