Citation: Boominathan, Natural product-based anticancer therapy: Ursolic acid, enriched in apples, suppresses the expression of stem cell proteins Oct-4 and Sox2 via up regulation of its target gene, 05/April/2015, 12.05 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Ursolic acid, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may suppress the expression of stem cell proteins Oct-4 and Sox2. Thereby, it may inhibit cancer progression. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Ursolic acid or its analogues” can be used to inhibit the progression of human tumors.
