Significance:
This suggests, for the first time, that N-arachidonoylethanolamine (AEA), by increasing the expression of its target gene ABCA1, it may increase the level of High-Density lipoproteins. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “N-arachidonoylethanolamine or its analogues“ may be used to treat disorders associated with lipid metabolism.
