Significance: It has been shown earlier that angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R) antagonist prolongs mammalian life span. This study suggests, for the first time, that Antrodia salmonea, by increasing the expression of its target gene,  it may suppress the expression of AT1R. And, thereby, it may (1) decrease blood pressure; (2) decrease blood sugar levels; (3) decrease ageing ; and (4) extend the lifespan of an individual. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Antrodia salmonea” may be used to extend the life-span of an individual.

Undisclosed information: How Antrodia salmonea suppresses the expression of  angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R)
