Significance: It has been shown earlier that angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R) antagonist prolongs mammalian life span. This study suggests, for the first time, that Cilostazol, by increasing the expression of their target gene, they may suppress the expression of AT1R. And thereby, they may (1) decrease blood pressure; and (2) and extend the lifespan of an individual. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Cilostazol or its analogues” may be used to extend the life-span of an individual.
Undisclosed information: How Cilostazol suppresses the expression of angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R)
