Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Garlic, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may suppress the expression of 5-Lipoxygenase (5-LO) and inhibit cancer stem cell proliferation. Thereby, it may prevent AML relapse after remission. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Compounds isolated from garlic”  can be used to inhibit the progression and relapse of acute myeloid leukemia after remission.
