Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Garlic , by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may inhibit acute lung injury. Thereby, it may inhibit the progression of acute respiratory distress syndrome. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Garlic or small molecule compounds isolated from garlic extract“ may be used to inhibit the progression of acute respiratory distress syndrome.
