Undisclosed information: A mechanistic insight into how Phloretin decreases glutathione levels, increases reactive oxygen species levels and inhibits cancer cell proliferation.

Significance:   The result  presented here suggests that Phloretin, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease glutathione levels, increase reactive oxygen species levels and inhibit cancer cell proliferation. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Phloretin or its analogues” can be used to treat cancer.
