Citation: Boominathan, Natural product-based therapy for Cerebral Ischemia: Piceatannol, a natural compound found in passion fruit (Passiflora edulis) increases cerebral blood flow and inhibits cerebral ischemia via up regulation of its target gene, 09/February/2016, 21.57, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests that Piceatannol, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may preserve cerebral blood flow. Thereby, it may inhibit the development of cerebral ischemia. Thus, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing “Piceatannol or its analogues“ may be used to inhibit cerebral ischemia.
