Significance: Garlic, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of cell cycle protein Cyclin C. Thereby, it may increase human pancreatic β-cell proliferation. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Garlic or small molecule compounds isolated from Garlic extract” may be used to increase functional β-cell mass in DM.
