Significance: SMAD7, by increasing the expression of its target miRNA, it may: (1) decrease the expression of IGF-1; (2) prolong the survival; (3) and  the life expectancy of females. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “SMAD7 activators” may prolong the life expectancy of females.
