Significance: It has been shown earlier that angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R) antagonist prolongs mammalian life span. This study suggests, for the first time, that Fisetin, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may suppress the expression of AT1R. Thereby, it may (1) decrease blood pressure; and (2) and extend the lifespan of an individual. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Fisetin or its analogues” may be used to extend the life-span of an individual.
Undisclosed information: How Fisetin suppresses the expression of angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1R)
