Citation: Boominathan, Natural product-based therapy for Melonama: Diallyl trisulfide, a compound isolated from Garlic, increases the expression of ADAR1 and inhibits melanoma progression via down regulation of its target gene, 2/March/2015, 13.10, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Diallyl trisulfide, by inducing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of ADAR1. Thereby, it may inhibit melanoma progression. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Diallyl trisulfide or its analogues” may be used in the treatment of melanoma.
