Citation: Boominathan, Natural product-based therapy for p53-mutated human cancers: Sulindac, an anti-inflammatory drug, increases the expression of tumor suppressor p53 homologue TAp63 via down regulation of its target gene, 4/March/2015, 8.34 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Sulindac, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of TAp63. Thereby, it may inhibit tumor progression. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Sulindac or its analogues” may be used to inhibit the progression of tumors.
