Citation: Boominathan, Preserving the function of the guardian of the genome, p53: Rubone inhibits functional inactivation of p53 by somatic mutation and viral oncognes via up regulation of its target gene, 4/February/2015, 22.57, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Rubone, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may inhibit the functional inactivation of p53 by somatic mutation and viral oncognes. Thereby, it may safeguard the function of the guardian of the genome, p53. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing ” Rubone or its analogues” may be used to inhibit the development of human tumors.
