Citation: Boominathan, Regenerative therapy for DM: MiRNA-301a increases insulin-secreting cell mass and function via down regulation of its target genes, 3/June/2015, 7.02 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that MiRNA-301a, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase insulin-secreting cell mass and function. Thereby, it may increase the insulin sensitivity of cellular tissues. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-301a activators” can be used to treat DM.
