Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that MiRNA-709, by suppressing the expression of RasGrf1, it may (1) promote protection against oxidative stress; and (2) extend the lifespan of an individual. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-709 activators“ may be used to extend the life-span of an individual.
