Citation: Boominathan, Small-molecule based therapy for Metastatic tumors: Celastrol suppresses the expression of PD-1 , a suppressor of activation of T-cells, via down regulation of its target gene, 16/February/2015, 23.18, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests that Celastrol, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of PD-1. Thereby, it may activate the immune system that attack tumors and inhibit tumor progression. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Celastrol or its analogues“ may be used to inhibit the progression of tumors.
