Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Metformin, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may suppress the expression of Growth hormone receptor. Thereby, it may increase the lifespan of an individual. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “ Metformin or its analogues“ may be used to extend the life-span of an individual.
