Undisclosed information: An insight into how E2F1 decreases insulin resistance and alleviates cardiovascular dysfunction.
Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that E2F1, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase insulin sensitivity; and promote the survival of cardiomyocytes. Together, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing “E2F1 activators” may be used to treat metabolic disorders, including T2DM and cardiac diseases.
