Idea Proposed/Formulated by: Dr L Boominathan Ph.D.
Citation: Boominathan, Therapeutic insight into the treatment tof Age-related Cataract: NRF2 promotes the surivival of lens epithelial cells via up regulation of its target gene, 25/October/2014, 10.55 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance: This study suggests that NRF2, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of a number of tumor suppressor proteins. Thereby, it may increase the survival of lens epithelial cells and prevent age-related cataract. Therefore, pharmacological formulations encompassing “NRF2 activators“ may be used to treat Cataract.
