Significance: This study suggests that E2F3, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may inhibit Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells Senescence and the expression of senescence-associated pro-inflammatory proteins. Thereby, it may inhibit arterial ageing and ageing associated-cardiovascular diseases. Thus, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing “E2F3 or its activators“ may be used to prevent arterial ageing.
