Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that Argonaute-2, by increasing the expression of Sirtuin-1, it may decrease insulin resistance; and increase longevity. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “ago-2 activators“ may be used to increase the life expectancy.
