 Significance: This study suggests that  1,25-dihydroxyvitamin Dby increasing the expression of its target gene, it may decrease the expression of a number of extracellular matrix genes. Thereby, it may inhibit the progression of pulmonary fibrosis. Thus, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D or its analogues” may be used to inhibit the progression of fibrotic diseases.
