- On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports here that: Treating cardiac hypertrophy with a longevity-promoting small molecule: Resveratrol protects the heart from cardiac hypertrophy via down regulation of its target gene. This study suggests that Resveratrol, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it could protect the heart from pathological cardiac hypertrophy. Together, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations containing “Resveratrol” can be used to treat Cardiac hypertrophy.
