A recent study from the Department of Cardiology and Pneumology, Charité University Medicine Berlin, Campus Benjamin Franklin, Hindenburgdamm 30, Berlin 12200, Germany shows that “Adiponectin protects against Toll-like receptor 4-mediated cardiac inflammation and injury.” This study was published in the 1 August’13 issue of the Journal “Cardiovascular Research” by Prof. Skurk C., Dr. Jenke A and others.
On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan PhD, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports that: Turning off inflammation inhibits autoimmune myocarditis: MiRNA-15a/16 inhibits cardiac inflammation and injury via down regulation of its target gene. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “MiRNA-15a/16 activators” may be used to treat patients suffering from autoimmune myocarditis.
