SignificanceThis study suggests that 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin Dby up regulating the expression of its target gene, it  may inhibit self-renewal of mammary cancer stem cells Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D may be used to inhibit the proliferation of mammary cancer stem cells.
