Citation: Boominathan, L., Vitamin-based therapy for Human cancers: Vitamin-E (α-Tocopherol) suppresses the expression of MDM4, the negative regulator of tumor suppressor p53, via up regulation of its target gene, 6/June/2015, 11.46 am, Genome-2-Bio-Medicine Discovery center (GBMD), http://genomediscovery.org
Significance:
This suggests that Vitamin-E, by decreasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of tumor suppressor p53. Thereby, it may inhibit cancer cell proliferation. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “α-Tocopherol or its analogues“ may be used to inhibit the progression of tumors.
