Significance: This study suggests that Vitamin-Eby increasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of Epithelium-protective factors; and decrease the expression of stress-induced genes. Thereby, it may protect against acute intestinal inflammation. Together, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Vitamin-E or its analogues” may be used to treat acute intestinal inflammation or ulcer.
