What is known?

It has been shown earlier that Klotho: (1) extends the lifespan of mice by about 19-31%; and (2) increases cognition. 

From Significance of the study to Therapeutic opportunity:  

This study suggests a natural product-based Life-extension therapy. Apple extract, by increasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of longevity-promoting and anti-aging gene Klotho. Thereby, it may extend the lifespan of mammals and improve cognition.
