Significance: It has been shown earlier that transgenic expression of telomerase increases the longevity of mice. This study suggests that Sall4, by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of telomease. Thereby, it may increase longevity. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Sall4 activators” can be used to increase life expectancy.
