The study presented here suggests that (6)-gingerol (6G), by increasing the expression of its target genes, it may increase the expression of Sprouty-1/2 (SPRY-1/2). Thereby, it may promote apoptosis, inhibit migration, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “(6)-gingerol (6G) or its analogues” may be used to inhibit the progression of invasive tumors.
