From Research findings to Therapeutic opportunity:

The study presented here suggests that Rhamnetin, by increasing the expression of its target genes, it may: (i) increase the expression of CADM1; (ii) decreases BMI1 translocation; (iii) increases tumor suppressor INK4a/p16 expression; and (iv) restores chemosensitivity in drug-resistant Human cancers.

Thereby, it may inhibit proliferation, chemoresistance and apoptosis of cancer cells. Thus, pharmacological formulations encompassing “Rhamnetin or its analogues or Rhamnetin in combination with any of known anti-cancer drugs” may be used to inhibit cancer progression.
