A study from the Focal Area Infection Biology, Biozentrum, University of Basel,  Basel, Switzerland has elucidated the mechanism of lysis of pathogen-containing vacuoles by IFN-induced GTPases.

This study was published in the May 15, 2014 Nature by Prof. Broz  and Etienne  from  Biozentrum, University of Basel,  Basel, Switzerland; Genentech Inc., South San Francisco, California, USA and others.

On the foundation of this interesting finding, Dr L Boominathan, Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD, reports here that: Therapeutic insight into augmenting pathogen-recognition by Immune complexes: δ-tocotrienol (Vitamin-E) promotes the lysis of pathogen-containing vacuoles via up regulation of its target gene
