Significance: This study suggests, for the first time, that massage (moderate pressure–pressure receptor-mechanotransduction), by increasing the expression of its target gene, it may attenuate inflammatory signalling and increase the expression of tumor suppressor TPM1. Given this, physicians may consider encouraging their cancer patients to undergo massage therapy.
