Significance: This study suggests that oncogenic miRNA-17-92, by suppressing the expression of its target gene, it may increase the expression of longevity gene Sirtuin-1. Furthermore, this study suggests that pharmacological formulations encompassing ” miR-17-92 activator” may (1) increase the life expectancy of an individual; (2) increase insulin cell mass and insulin sensitivity; and (3) deaccelerate ageing process.
